At Cakes by Edith, baking is our idioma del amor — our love language. For nearly two decades, our family has served Salt Lake City with handcrafted pastries that honor our Mexican raíces while embracing everything we've built here. From classic pan dulce to creative seasonal cakes, we stay true to our heritage with every tray that comes out of the oven.
Our pasteles are made for life's biggest celebrations — birthdays, quinceañeras, weddings, graduations, and everything in between. We also host hands-on cake decorating classes and our beloved community event, Edith's Greatest Bake Off, where local talent takes center stage.

NUESTRA HISTORIA
A family bakery built on raíces and a whole lot of heart.
Cakes by Edith was born from a dream — and built by trabajo duro. Edith and Jorge Lopez started this bakery from the ground up, growing it into one of Salt Lake City's most beloved names in baking. Edith, honored as Business of the Year (2019) by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, brings boundless creativity to every design. Jorge, the heart behind the ovens, leads a team of more than 24 dedicated bakers with the same passion he's had since day one.
Their daughters have joined the familia — both earning business degrees from UVU — and in 2022, daughter Alma Lopez was named Business Woman of the Year by Riverton City. Together, they've built more than a bakery. They've built a cultural bridge where Mexican and American traditions meet, celebrate, and create something deliciously new.
